“Let us regard the whole creative process in theatre as consisting of four successive stages. Knowledge of these will give the actor assurance in his work and will free him from the slavery of accidents, personal moods, disappointments, and nervous impatience.” (Michael Chekhov)
As a group of actors and directors, we will start to work on a play being particularly interested in the practical elaboration of the Michael Chekhov Technique. We will follow four stages of the creative process, suggested by Michael Chekhov, and learn how to create the whole play using imagination and images as a starting point. The next step will be conscious elaboration of images along with the ensemble reading of the play. The third step will teach you how to incorporate your images and what tools will help you to create your characters. The last step will awaken inspiration and divide consciousness.
In this workshop you will gain the overall knowledge and skills of working on the whole play and the characters in it while using acting tools suggested by Michael Chekhov, a great Russian actor, director, and acting teacher.
A profound movement training combined with the awareness of the images created by your imagination is the base of this workshop.
