Dunja Tot


Dunja Tot was born in Zagreb, where she graduated in Philosophy and in directing, at the University of Zagreb. In 1980/81 she got the Fulbright grant for the US at the Harvard University and at the Boston University in Boston Ma, where she was trained in Meisner for the first time.

She specialized in opera directing at the Komische Oper Berlin, working with Harry Kupfer. In 2000 she went to Hollywood and studied with Jeremiah Comey coaching on set, and worked with him on his book “The Art of Film Acting”, Focal Press, USA 2002.

In 2007 she took part in Larry Silverberg’s master class in Berlin Academia der Künste, and in Summer 2008 and 2009 got the certificate from the Eckerd College St.Petersbourg, Florida, which certified her to teach Meisner method.

Living in Zagreb, she was teaching at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, and after moving to Vienna in 1986 she was teaching acting at the Max Reinhard Seminary, at the Private Acting School Krauss, at the First Vienna Film School, at the Performing Arts School for Musical Theatre, and at the moment is teaching at the Conservatorium Vienna.

For 7 years she has taught Meisner and film acting for unemployed actors.
10 years ago she established her own acting studio “PALLAS”.
Since living in Vienna, she directed numerous shows, and recently directed her own 2 plays.
